Climate change is a threat - companies have to identify the risks climate change poses to their business - but it can also be an opportunity. The development and adoption of new technology is an essential element of any comprehensive response to global climate change. Many of the technologies needed, do not yet exist commercially. Or sometimes they are too costly at this time. Any successful strategy to reduce GHG emissions significantly will require actions not only to deploy low-emission technologies that are available today, but also to foster innovation on new technologies that are needed.
